Trevian Youth Football and Cheer's mission is to teach our players to develop love and appreciation for the football, so they will continue to play the game that teaches life lessons like no other. Congrats to Trevians playing Panama in the International Bowl. A record 19 Academic Award Winners in 2009 including 3 receiving $1,200 AYF Scholarships and working on more for 2010.
Football is positive on many levels - character building , healthy, life lessons...

All games are filmed and uploaded with HUDL for viewing at home, personal highlights and online teaching. NFL teams use it.
www.hudl.com  The games will also be shown on Comcast TV. The largest High School and college sport is football. We believe playing sports in high school is positive, healthy and vital. We study our weekly Foundations Character Development lessons with awards on Thursdays. Individual and team results in paper weekly.

Trevian Youth Football is the largest and most comprehensive youth football program on the North Shore with participants from 1st – 8th grades from many communities. We practice and play our home games in Wilmette and Glencoe. We welcome all and continue to grow with our mission to provide the best youth sports experience possible with the highest level of instruction for football and cheer so our players will develop a love for the game and continue to play the sport that teaches life lessons like no other.  We strive to be champions on and off the field and have character building curriculum. We are a 501c3 nonprofit, member Positive Coaching Association, NFL Youth Partner, USA Football, Glencoe Chamber of Commerce and Chicagoland AYF.

More kids play football in High School than any other sport. Football is great for kids and we provide a fun place for kids to play of all sizes and skill levels.

We differentiate ourselves from park district football programs in many ways: higher player/coach ratios, age and weight controlled divisions for safety and level competition, longer season with more games and practices, character building program, largest league in Chicago and Nation, All Stars go to Florida, game film study, scholarships, AYF academic achievers, professional skill trainers, cheer program, concessions and announcers, insurance, IHSA refs, AYF regional playoffs, AYF national championships, communications/web, spring training... We supplement the program with special events such as NFL player visits, game film meetings, fantasy football leagues, college and high school game outings, pep rallies, NFL Punt Pass Kick Competition ... We have gone to AYF Nationals in Orlando Florida and National Youth Football Championships in Las Vegas. Experiences that will last a lifetime.

Chicagoland AYF is in all 50 states and is the largest youth football league serving over 500,000 children. Trevian competes in the Chicagoland  North Division. League website: www.chicagolandayf.com

Character Development Program

Dear Trevian Parent,

We appreciate having you and your son as part of our program. The game of football is in many ways like life. In order to be successful on the football field you have to listen, try hard, set goals, be consistent, persevere, finish and be selfless. These are all character traits that will serve our players well beyond the football field.

To augment these lessons the boys learn on the field we are also implementing the Foundations Character Development program for our players. Each week a different Foundations theme will be stressed and discussed. An e-mail will come to you weekly. This e-mail will have a 1-page poster that will highlight that week’s theme. Please print it out and have your son tape it up in some prominent place like above his bed or maybe on the fridge door.

The e-mail will also include a short 3-4 paragraph Foundations character lesson on subjects like perseverance, selflessness, humility, consistency and teamwork to name a few. Each e-mail will usually also include a link to a YouTube link that will often bring that week’s theme to life. All of the materials are G - rated. Please review each e-mail and pass along to your son. We will be presenting Foundation Awards to several players each week who have been exhibiting the character theme traits.

Please join us after practice on Thursdays, listen to the discussion, and watch the awards ceremony. Our coaching staff is trained to use positive reinforcement practices as well as using some of the unique team bonding methods to help and bring our team together. We hope to be augmenting what you are already teaching and modeling at home. Sometimes hearing the exact same thing from someone other than mom or dad gives more credibility to the initial message and primary messenger - you. Participating in this program is not mandatory. Please support us in this effort, we want this year’s football experience to be very special, not just for this season but for the years thereafter. - Coach Rice

AYF Academic Achievers Awards - Nineteen 2009 Trevian Winners

Congratulations
to Danny Elfman, Zach Pelts, and Dylan Cable.
These 3 Trevians have won the $1,200 prize for 2009 Chicagoland AYF Academic Achievement Award! We are proud of your leadership and success on the football field and in the classroom. We also have 16 younger Trevians who won AYF Academic Achievement Awards making 2009 our best year yet with 19 Trevian winners in all.

AYF presented our three 8th graders with award certificates and a scholarship of $1,200 at the AYF Championships in recognition of their academic accomplishments. We hope this helps you and we look forward to watching you play football next year in High School. Congratulations.  - Mark Rice - President – Trevian Youth Football

Our boys have the chance to earn an award for their excellence in the classroom to compliment their excellence on the field, in our homes, and in our community. This is a wonderful thing that the NFL and our AYF league does for our kids. It is the Academic Achievement Alliance, and winners are eligible to receive $1,200 savings bond as a scholarship plus other awards. Players with grades of 95% or better are eligible.

Trevian Youth Football Wins Ntional Championship

November 19, 2009
For the first time in the history of the organization, the Trevian Youth Football Junior Pee Wees will play in the Chicagoland American Youth Football Super Bowl this weekend. The team beat Homewood last weekend in the semi-finals. Winning the AYF South Division, the team will play against Leyden at Addison Trail High School for the Midwest AYF Championship.

Mark Rice of Trevian Youth Football said the Junior Pee Wees are 5th and 6th graders and are head coached by former Chicago Bear Fred Miller. The team, which reports about half its players coming from Glencoe and Winnetka and the rest from other suburbs, has a record of 13-1 this season, improved from 1-9 last season. The team has had extra work and special events, including spring training, extra scrimmages, and game film study sessions Rice said. The team is travelling to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving and won two bowl games against teams from Arizona and California to bring home the National Youth Football Championships. -- Liza Roche
